Why is David Bass - endorsed by Republicans like Joe Patterson - publicly questioning the qualifications and experience of sitting Placer County Judge Leon Dixson? I'll let you decide, but as someone running for a judgeship, he might want to check his biases.

Right now in Placer County, David Bass is running for a judgeship. And he’s publicly questioning the experience of the sitting judge, Leon Dixson.

David wrote in a facebook post asking what experience does Judge Dixson actually have that makes him qualified?'

I just... Where have we heard this before

Interestingly, David Bass also falsely claimed Dixson was lenient on a sex offender

Ketanji Brown Jackson - Harvard Law, years on the federal bench, literal decades of experience—and she was still grilled on whether she was 'qualified.' Why? Because when a Black candidate is over-prepared, the goalposts are moved.

Let’s look at the 'missing' experience David is talking about. Judge Dixson was a civil rights attorney for 14 years. He was unanimously chosen as a Court Commissioner by our local judges.

He went through a massive, non-partisan vetting process to be appointed to the bench. And every single sitting judge in Placer County has now endorsed him. They work with him. They know he’s qualified.

So when a challenger asks, 'What makes him qualified?' about a black man who is already doing the job with the full support of the entire local judiciary... you have to ask yourself why that question is even being asked in the first place.

Placer County deserves better than dog-whistle politics. We have a judge who has already proven he can do the work. Let’s keep him there.
